Local SEO

Local SEO services built to get you into the map pack

The map pack — the three listings shown above everything else — appears on roughly 93% of local searches and takes nearly half of all the clicks. If you're not one of those three, you're invisible at the exact moment someone nearby decides who to call.

THE THREE POSITIONS THAT GET SEEN

Why local search decides who gets picked, not who's best

Local search converts differently from almost any other channel. Roughly three-quarters of people who run a local search on their phone visit a business within a day of searching — there's no browsing phase, no coming back later. Whoever shows up gets the call.

That's not a small edge for the businesses in the map pack. Independent research consistently puts their traffic well over double what businesses ranked four through ten receive, for the same search terms, in the same city. Being technically excellent and sitting in position five is, in practical terms, close to being invisible.

Figures aggregated from published research including Google, BrightLocal, Backlinko and Semrush — directional industry benchmarks, not a claim about any specific business's results.

What's usually costing businesses that position

It's rarely one big mistake. It's a Google Business Profile that was set up once and never touched again — wrong categories, no recent posts, questions sitting unanswered for months. It's the same business listed under three slightly different addresses across different directories, which tells Google it can't be sure which one is correct. It's reviews trickling in with no process behind them, while a competitor with a deliberate review strategy quietly pulls ahead.

None of these are dramatic on their own. Together, they're the difference between being the first result and being the eighth.

Profile accuracy+Citation consistency+Recent reviews=Local confidence

What we do

01

Google Business Profile management

A profile is never really finished. Categories and services need to match what Google's algorithm currently rewards, posts need a consistent cadence, and a question left unanswered for weeks reads as neglect to anyone checking before they call.

Typical work: profile audit and correction · category and service optimisation · posting cadence · Q&A monitoring · photo and update management
02

Citation building and cleanup

Every directory listing your business name, address and phone number needs to say exactly the same thing, in exactly the same format. Inconsistency here is the single most common, least visible cause of a stalled local ranking.

Typical work: citation audit · duplicate removal · NAP consistency correction · directory submissions · ongoing monitoring
03

Review strategy

Volume matters less than most businesses assume; consistency and response matter more. A steady stream of recent reviews, answered promptly and honestly, signals an active business in a way fifty reviews from two years ago never will.

Typical work: review request workflow · response templates and process · monitoring across platforms
04

Local content and location pages

For businesses with more than one service area, generic pages don't hold up — each area usually needs its own page, written for what's actually true of that location rather than the same paragraph with the city name swapped in.

Typical work: location page strategy and build · locally relevant service content · content aligned to what each area actually searches for
05

Local link building

The same authority-building work that supports general SEO, pointed specifically at local and regional sources — a chamber of commerce listing, a local press mention, a community sponsorship page — rather than generic link targets with no geographic signal.

Typical work: local partnership and sponsorship links · regional press and directory outreach · community and association links
06

Local schema and structured data

Adding LocalBusiness or service-area markup to your website, so search engines can read your address, service area and hours directly from the code rather than inferring them from the page text.

Typical work: schema implementation · service-area configuration · multi-location markup where applicable
07

Showing up in AI-powered local search

A growing share of local-intent searches now surface an AI Overview instead of, or alongside, the map pack — someone asking "best electrician near me" may get an AI-generated answer before they ever see a results page. The same fundamentals that win the map pack — a complete profile, consistent citations, genuine reviews — are also what AI systems draw on to decide who to mention. We handle this as part of local SEO rather than a separate purchase; for businesses that want it treated as its own priority, see AI search optimization.

You'll work with the same person throughout, with regular reporting on rankings, calls and direction requests — not a rotating account team relaying updates from someone else doing the actual work.

Who this works for

Any business with a physical location or a defined service area — dentists, law firms, plumbers, electricians, salons, restaurants, accountants, home services. The common thread isn't industry, it's that customers choose based partly on proximity.

You don't need a storefront. A plumber, an on-site consultant, a lawyer who meets clients by appointment — each has a service area even without a public address, and Google's local results account for that through service-area business listings rather than a fixed location. The setup differs slightly, and it's worth getting right from the start; switching a listing from storefront to service-area configuration later is more disruptive than starting correctly.

The same logic extends to multiple locations. Each one generally needs its own profile, its own citations, and its own review flow — related, but managed as distinct rather than duplicated copies of each other.

Common questions

01

How much does local SEO cost?

+

Usually folded into a monthly SEO retainer, since most of the supporting work — site speed, technical health, authority — is shared with general SEO. Standalone local SEO, for a business that only needs the local-specific pieces, is priced the same way: fixed monthly fee, defined deliverables. We'll give you specifics once we understand your market and how many locations are involved.

02

How does this fit with your general SEO service?

+

Local SEO wins you the map pack. General SEO wins you everything else — the organic results below it, and traffic from searches with no "near me" attached. Most businesses that depend on nearby customers need both; a slow, poorly structured site limits how far local rankings can carry it, and weak local presence limits how far general SEO can carry a business that lives on local demand.

03

How long before I see movement in the map pack?

+

Citation and profile fixes can show results within weeks. Ranking improvements against established local competitors typically take a few months, longer in categories where a lot of agencies are already doing this work — law, medical and home services among them.

04

Can I do this myself instead of hiring someone?

+

Much of it, yes — Google Business Profile and citation management aren't gated behind special access. What usually breaks down is consistency: reviews need ongoing requests, citations drift out of sync over time, and profiles need regular attention rather than a single setup session. If you have the time to maintain that, you don't need us for it.

05

What if my Google Business Profile has already been suspended or flagged?

+

It happens more often than businesses expect, usually from a policy violation, a duplicate listing, or an ownership dispute. Reinstatement is its own process, separate from ongoing optimisation, and worth raising with us directly rather than assuming standard setup applies.

06

Do you work with businesses outside your country?

+

Yes. We're based in India and work with clients worldwide, with most of our focus on the United States. We reply to anything you send within 1–2 business days.
